Over the past three months, I embarked on an incredible journey of learning full-stack development with the African Institute of Technology and Innovation (AITI) and have had a chronicle of experiences, challenges, and triumphs during this period. From being a total novice in Tech to expanding my knowledge of Tech. Starting from the basics of HTML to CSS and even media queries. With the knowledge I acquired over the last three months, I have been able to embark on some projects like replicating some landing pages, creating simple webpages using HTML and CSS and using media queries to apply responsiveness to the pages.
At the start of my tech journey, I was filled with curiosity, mixed feelings and a strong desire to delve deeper into this vast realm of learning. The classes began with lectures on programming languages to web development. The goal was to gain a well-rounded understanding of the course of study. I absorbed programming concepts and experimented with eagerly consolidating my understanding through practical projects. It was during this phase that I realized the importance of hands-on experience in truly grasping complex tech concepts. Each day brought new information and exciting challenges and I have gained valuable insights that have shaped my perspective on the ever-evolving world of technology.
It is noteworthy that, no learning journey is complete without its fair share of obstacles. As I encountered difficulties, I found solace in the tech community. Each time I find myself in my community town hall meetings, I get inspired and rejuvenated by other people's stories and testimonies. I jumped on calls with my tutors whenever I faced situations beyond me and got online resources where I could seek guidance, share ideas, and learn my problem-solving skills. The projects and assignments given to us by our tutors helped deepen my understanding. This practical application allowed me to witness firsthand how technology can drive innovation and to see my ideas come to life through the power of technology.
Looking back at my three months of intense learning, I am amazed at how far I have come. Beyond acquiring technical skills, I have developed a growth mindset that fuels my passion for constant improvement. This journey has taught me the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and embracing challenges.
